Solomon King "showcasing students' talents"
What I will always remember most about Tallis is the opportunities to develop your creativity. I vividly recall watching a whole range of different drama and music performances in the Tallis room and the Drama studio, showcasing students' talents. I also remember seeing the teachers making fools of themselves! Seeing Mrs Armstrong do her dance at one of the end of year assemblies, and Mrs Barton and Mr Bradshaw doing their singing duet at one of our graduation assemblies.
One of my post-16 courses was a Music performance BTEC. I always was interested in Music, and wanted to focus more on Music Technology, but I am very glad I did the performance course anyway. It taught me a lot concerning the practical applications of music, as much within a studio as well as part of a group of live musicians. These are part of a knowledge base that I continue to apply in my degree course to this day. I am currently in my first year of a 3 year Music Production (BA) course at Leeds College of Music, and am thoroughly enjoying the course so far. |
