Bursary Scheme

Tallis offers two levels of bursary payment to support students. All bursary payments are conditional on satisfactory attendance and completion of work. Students who receive free school meals receive a Discretionary Bursary.  This is the higher sum and is paid half-termly in arrears to recipients.  Students who want to be considered for the Discretionary Bursary must apply to Greenwich Council to be assessed for Free School Meals.

Students whose families receive Working Tax Credits and their total income is below £18,000 are eligible for a £200 Book Bursary.  The school will purchase items up to this value for recipients of the Book Bursary.

The procedure for Book Bursary purchases is as follows:

  1. Students have to liaise with their subject teachers who can authorise orders of books or contributions towards trips or journeys.
  2. Subject teachers will get in touch with the relevant staff in Finance who will order texts etc for delivery to school.
  3. We do not refund purchase receipts.
