Information for Candidates

The Joint Council on Qualifications governs how we have to run all our examinations. The documents below describe the rules around our exams processes. We're bound by them, and post them here so that students can familiarise themselves with the regulations.

Pearson obtains injunction to protect integrity of exams

In April 2026, Pearson obtained an injunction preventing anyone from interfering with their GQ and VTQ exams.

The injunction is a court order that prohibits anyone in the UK, including students and invigilators, from attempting to obtain, transfer, publish or sell hardcopy or electronic Pearson exam papers or related materials (e.g. resource booklets or formulae sheets), whether fake or genuine, before the exam has been sat.

It's important that students know they must not attempt to buy exam papers. In almost all cases, they will be fake, and purchasing even fake papers can result in severe sanctions, including loss of their qualifications. Please download the JCQ poster for students, which outlines the ways that social media should and should not be used regarding examinations.
