Subject Information |
Computer Science at A-level covers a wide range of topics and skills to give our students a sound knowledge base for future studies and careers in technology and software.
You will build a deep understanding of how computer hardware and software really works. We investigate how networks share data and how to protect them from vulnerabilities. We look at the mathematical and logical side of computer science including binary arithmetic and Boolean algebra. Computational thinking skills will be sharpened to aid problem solving and program development. Algorithms are explored and their utility to solve problems is analysed. Substantial time is devoted to the improvement of coding skills in one or more programming languages and there will be the opportunity to produce a substantial student led programming project. We use the OCR examination board and study H466. |
