EXAM RESULTS 2013

Post 16 Tallis leads the way with outstanding results and a record 26 students to attend Russell Group Universities.

The wonderful results accomplished by our students at ‘A’ Level means that they can now fulfil their dreams and ambitions at some of the best Russell Group Universities, including Oxbridge.

Over 115 students took A2 examinations at Thomas Tallis this year and there were over 280 entries for A2 qualifications from this cohort.
At A level alone we have had 99% pass rate on all subjects taken. 100% pass rate on all Vocational courses.

BTEC Level 3 results continue to be outstanding. Almost two thirds of students entered for the double BTEC obtaining double Distinctions or better.

Celebrating individual performances:
  • Olivia Fletcher obtained 3 A* grades and will take up a place at Gonville and Caius College Cambridge, studying English.
  • Leilah Forward obtained 3 A*s and will take up a place at Mansfield College Oxford to study Mathematics.
  • Tom Warner obtained an A and 2 A*s and will be continuing to University College London.
  • Thomas Titherington obtained 3 A grades and will be taking up a place at Bristol.
  • Femi Oladipo attained an A and 2 A*s and will go to Manchester.
  • Khanh-Sang Nguyen achieved an A* and 2 A grades and will be going to Imperial College, London
  • Lily Chen achieved an A* and 2 A grades and will be continuing at Kings College, London.
  • Liam Eloie achieved an A* and 2 As and will be studying Physics at University College London.
  • Devon Wright achieved 2 A* and Distinction star and is going to the London College of Communications to study photography.

Outstanding vocational achievements by: Flora Lake Bettles, Samuel Kitheka, Thuy Ly and Luis Sanchez all achieving Triple Distinction stars or more. We have five students progressing to Central St Martin's College of Art and design and another student continuing at The London College of Communication. This breadth and depth of results for a non-selective sixth form is remarkable and a tribute to the hard work and high expectations of students and staff alike.

This success has meant that the majority of students at Tallis are able to go on to read a wide range of subjects at their first choice of university including the most prestigious institutions in the country such as:

Maths at Oxford  -  English at Cambridge  -  Chemistry at Imperial  -  Drama at Bristol  -  Biochemistry at Nottingham  -  Renewable Energy at Exeter  -  Biomedical Science at Southampton Physics and Philosophy at the University College London  -  Politics, Geography and Computer Science at Manchester  -  Mathematics and Finance at King's College London.

The Executive Head Teacher Byron Parker commented:

"I am delighted that so many of our students have exceeded their expectations and are going to  first rate Universities where they will be able to fulfil their ambitions.  Moreover, all of our students including those that have pursued a vocational pathway have also realised their ambitions and taken a further step towards their final goals. They demonstrate, once again, that Tallis supports the achievement of all its students, regardless of ability and is committed to making year-on-year improvements in standards.  Our students and staff have done a superb job working together to obtain great results in one of the tightest years for University entrance on record. Well done everyone!"
