Modern Languages
An A Level in a Modern Foreign Language will not only
complement all your other subjects but will also widen your horizons and stand
you in good stead for your future studies and career. A level French covers a range of topics of
interest to the young person of today:you will use multimedia to study popular culture, the mass media,
lifestyle and relationships, whilst also developing your listening, speaking,
reading and writing skills.
If you go on to A2, you will hone your skills as a linguist and delve deeper into the French culture through the study of a novel and of a period of 20th century French history. As a major international language, Spanish has now more first language speakers than English. Whether you want to study Spanish for travel, for a future career, to improve your communications skills, to gain insight into the Hispanic world or ideally all of these, Spanish A level is a valuable qualification. It requires hard work and commitment but in return you have a skill for life. |
